Planning for question six and seven
Q6 AND Q7
Q6. What have I
learnt about technologies in process of constructing in the products?
What did you know before?
Before starting A-Level Media Studies, I knew little about the programs I use now and think this is evident through the quality of my products during the preliminary activity. Through constant attempts and help from my teacher I have been able to build each week on what I know about programs such as 'Fireworks'. I have able to use the features on fireworks to create a front cover, contents page and double page spread which I am pleased with. I learnt how to turn a simple blank page into a magazine that was well presented and positioned, through the use of fireworks .I was able to create margins which meant my magazine was perfectly laid out and positioned and create a base to work with. My camera techniques and skills have dramatically improved, with the help of research into 'Rule of thirds' and existing media products I took photographs that I am pleased with. Without the use of technology such as high quality camera's and tripods, my photographs wouldn't be as good as they turned out to be.
Whilst making my masthead, I downloaded fonts from 1001 fonts to widen the choice and try out various styles

Media composition and layout, maybe the use of

Have you learnt how to use technology – sound
cloud? Did you used to listen? Now you’ve uploaded.
Make your thing visual – have evidence. Have screenshots of how you
edited it. Flickr is how you chose to show your pictures in every element you
have linked it back to some sort of technology and it will help to showcase
this and why it helped you
Q7. What you have learnt from a media
perspective?
How
to deisgn and compose layout with text and images – follow conventions within a
recognised form and genre? How to select photo’s to appropriate for audience
and material you are producing, text and colour too. Give clear messages about
representations. Compare these products. Relate to the conventions.

Question four
Interview with my ideal reader: https://soundcloud.com/eve-foran/chelsea-kinsella-interview
My ideal reader will have a
low-paid job which funds their hobbies and pays for events such as festivals,
clothes, gig tickets and going out with friends. As my typical reader will fit
into the age group of 16-21, I very much doubt that they’ll earn an income to
spend on bills etc and most of it will be disposable but they won’t be earning
high amounts of money. Their regular income will be typical of a C2, D or E
worker, however the way they dress and style themselves will not represent this,
they’ll be very conscious of the way they’re perceived by friends and spend
money on having a good time and treating themselves quite regularly. They may
spend the rest of their time studying and also have other interest’s behinds
going out and partying; they are by no means stupid and create the right
balance between work and play. Their lifestyle choices and social values will
be typical of a Innovators whom is self-confident,
not afraid to take risk and always seeking new and different things according to the InSight value group and their
classifications. My ideal reader will be unmarried with no children and will be
working towards a-levels or a degree along with a part time job, taking part in
an apprenticeship which gives them a regular source of income or a full time
job which still gives them the time to take part in things they choose to do.
As my ideal reader will be quite
young, it means that they’ll live at home or renting due to university, I doubt
that they’ll have enough money to support themselves in a home. They may own a
small car such as a fiat 500 but won’t be heavily focused on things like this;
they won’t mind catching public transport such as trains or buses and might
even ride a bike. Travelling is something that they will have a keen interest
in and they may use some of their income to fund their travels and ventures to
places such as Croatia, where festivals such as ‘Outlook’ and ‘Hideout’ are
located and is the ultimate hotspot for music loving teens. Even though my
ideal reader will be living here and now for the moment, they will have future
plans such as finishing their education, looking for a job in something they
find of interest, eventually moving out and finding a partner in the long term.
Short term, they may continue to save for new clothes, festivals, electronics,
fast food and funding nights out with their friends. These are the type of things I needed to keep
in mind when choosing the price and how often it is released and distributed.
Socializing will play a key role in their life and my target audience will be
very people-driven, whilst they enjoy going out and partying they will also
value family time and just relaxing with a pizza and their new favourite album
on repeat mid-week with a couple of their friends. They’ll value the time of
others, online shopping and networking on websites such as ‘Tumblr’ and
‘Twitter’. They’;; always have an insight into what’s going on in the world due
to the easiness of the web through the use of phones such as HTC’s, iPhones and
iPads, which they will own. Their iPhone will enable them to listen to music
whilst on commute through the use of YouTube and my ideal reader may even be
subscribed to mobile Spotify, as they run regular offers for students which
will appeal to my audience. It’s unlikely that they’ll play CD’s and are much
more likely to use websites such as Soundcloud as it’s free and offers a wide
selection of remixes and new artists.
